Good to know
Click any tile to copy the character, then paste it into Figma, Photoshop, Word, your code or your CMS.
Hyphen, en dash and em dash
The hyphen (-) joins words, the en dash (–) marks ranges such as 10–20 or 2024–2026, and the em dash (—) sets off a break in a sentence — like this.
Thin space, hair space and non-breaking space
A thin space (U+2009) and a hair space (U+200A) are narrow spaces for fine typographic tuning, for example around an em dash or between a number and its unit. A non-breaking space (NBSP, U+00A0) keeps two words, like “10 km”, together on one line.
Interpunct (middle dot)
The interpunct (·) is a small centred dot that separates items in navigation, footers and inline lists: Home · Work · Contact.
Mac keyboard symbols
⌘ is Command, ⌥ is Option, ⇧ is Shift, ⌃ is Control, ⇥ is Tab and ⇪ is Caps Lock. Handy when writing shortcuts in documentation and interface design.
Quotation marks by language
English uses curly “double” and ‘single’ quotes. Slovak, Czech and German open with a low mark and close with a high one: „like this“. French uses guillemets: « like this ».
